5 Steps to Becoming a Credentialed YPA

Step 1: Complete Level One of the YPA Training

You will need to complete the Level One online component in order to apply for a Provisional Credential.

You can access and register for the Level One online training here.

 

Step 2: Apply for the YPA Provisional Credential

Once you have completed the Level One YPA training you can apply for the Provisional Credential. After approved, you must complete all other requirements of the Professional Credential within 18 months of employment as a YPA.

Step 3: Complete Level Two YPA Training Online

To begin pursuing the Professional Credential, complete Level Two of the online YPA training. You can access and register for the Level Two trainings here.

 

Step 4: Complete Level 2 In-Person YPA Training

Once you have completed the Level 2 Online Training, you will need to complete the Level 2 in-person training. This includes a 2-day training session and consultation calls. You will need to complete a minimum of 3 consultation calls to receive your certificate of completion. Consultation calls are arranged through your in-person training facilitator.

Step 5: Apply for the YPA Professional Credential

Once you have completed steps 1-5 you can apply for the Professional Credential.

Maintaining your credential with Continuing Education

In order for a professionally credentialed applicant to maintain their credential, you will need to submit a minimum of 20 hours every 2 years of continuing education credits.

More information about continuing education will be available upon the release of the credential.
